Among the advantages of PCI touchscreens,
the circuiting is especially worthy of
mentioning because the circuits were laid
out behind the glass, which means it is the
glass which is operated on and touched on.
Glass is more resistant to scratch. Unlike
the resistive type, a PCI touchscreen
doesn’t need pressure to function in the
correct way. And since it is very sensitive
to power, wearing gloves that are too thick
might impact its performance. Theoretically
speaking, the linearity will not decrease as
time passes, therefore calibration is not
necessary, and users also don’t need to
calibrate it to make it function correctly.
Since PenMount’s launching of PCI touch
controller in the past year, the 7” PCI
sample touchscreen has been made available
for customers to develop their own software.
As for hardware design, PenMount controller
minimizes the interference of the
environment so that when it functions, the
sensibility and the accuracy won’t get
deteriorated by hand sweat or rain. As the
software is concerned, PenMount provides the
support of Microsoft Windows XP / Vista and
Windows 7. After installing PenMount
drivers, you will be able to neatly make use
of PCI touchscreen. If you have ever used
PenMount’s resistive touch products, you
will find PCI is using the similar operating
interface and functionality.
With PenMount’s drivers, you can configure
different touch operating modes, turning on
touch beep feedback sound and setting up the
simulation way of mouse’s right key. If you
choose to use PenMount’s gesture application
program, the single- and duel-finger
operations including the recognition of 18
gestures are made available to you. By
PenMount gestures’ default values in Windows
XP, you will be able to zoom in, zoom out or
rotate immediately the pictures by using the
gestures with Windows XP’s preinstalled Fax
and Picture Viewer. If your operating system
is Windows Vista or Windows 7, you don’t
need any driver to access the touch
functions such as flicks and right key
simulation which was pre-installed in the
operating system.
PenMount receives requests from customers
all the time asking about PCI solution of
duel- or multi-touch. When actually
discussing with customers on the
applications of real duel-touch, PenMount
always tries to make them aware that it only
takes single- or duel-touch to fulfill the
zooming in/out and rotation of pictures. The
picture viewing program pre-installed in
Windows 7 for example, only needs the
appropriate gesture to zoom in/out the
pictures, and rotation as well. Anyway,
whatever customer’s request is, PenMount
will keep on developing the gesture
application programs hoping to fulfill
customer’s needs.
PenMount made the latest film out of AMT’s
PCI touchscreen. In the film, the touch
surface of PCI touchscreen is a thick glass,
which is different from those available on
the market. PenMount controller and the
application programs make it easy for users
to neatly “touch” and “ drag” on the
touchscreen. You can access PenMount’s
newest PCI show film at
